Curiosity & Curation
The Strazzanti sisters – of dual English and Sicilian heritage – seek out small independent Sicilian fine food suppliers to import and sell their goods in the UK. The basis for Strazzanti’s visual identity is the Cirneco dell’ Etna – ‘the Sicilian Hound’'.
The hunting hound is an ancient breed, native to Sicily. Its name is derived from the Latin ‘cernere’ which means ‘to look for attentively’. Today, the rare, small hound, entirely orange in colour, continues to hunt small game. It is the perfect representative for the sisters’ process of sourcing their products and has inspired a distinctive and identifiable colour palette, which has been coupled with classic British typography.
